Buttermilk White Bread


Makes 1 Loaf

The texture and flavor of this loaf reminds us of days gone by when Grandma baked her recipe for white bread
Ingredients

1.5 LB (750 G)

1 1/4 cups     Water
1 1/4 tsp        Salt
1 tbsp           granulated sugar
1 tbsp           shortening or vegetable oil
3 1/2 cups    all-purpose flour or bread flour
1/3 cup         buttermilk powder
1 tsp            bread machine yeast





2 LB (1 KG)


1 1/2 cups     water
1 1/2 tsp        salt
2 tbsp            granulated sugar
2 tbsp           shortening or vegetable oil
3 3/4 cups    all-purpose flour or bread flour
1/2 cup        buttermilk powder
1 1/4 tsp      bread machine yeast
  
Preparation
1. Measure ingredients into baking pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Insert pan into the oven chamber

2. Select Basic Cycle










TIP
Add the buttermilk powder after the flour. It clumps when added with the liquids

Variation
If buttermilk powder is unavailable, substitute 1/4 cup skim milk power in either the 1.5 lb or 2 lb recipe
